TiVimate Review 2026 the Best IPTV Player I Tested After 8 Weeks

I have tested TiVimate daily for 8 weeks on my Fire TV Stick 4K Max, an Onn 4K Pro Streaming Box, and an Nvidia Shield TV Pro. The goal was to figure out if TiVimate is still the best IPTV player in 2026 — and whether the Premium upgrade is worth the $20 a year.

My short answer: TiVimate is the best IPTV player on Fire TV and Android TV by a wide margin. The free version is good enough for most users. Premium is worth it if you use multiple IPTV subscriptions or want to record live TV.

What is TiVimate

TiVimate is a third-party IPTV player app for Android TV and Fire TV devices. It does not have its own TV channels — you provide the IPTV subscription. TiVimate plays the channels from your subscription with a polished cable-TV style interface.

Developer: a small independent team based in Eastern Europe. The app has been actively developed since 2018 with regular updates roughly every 2 months.

Available on:

• Fire TV Stick (Lite, 4K, 4K Max) — sideload via Downloader
• Android TV devices (Sony, Onn, Chromecast with Google TV) — Google Play Store
• Nvidia Shield TV — Google Play Store

• iOS (iPhone and iPad) — use IPTV Smarters Pro instead

Here is a clear breakdown:

Premium pricing:

• $19.99 per year — annual subscription
• $39.99 lifetime — one-time payment, covers your Google account forever

The lifetime license pays back in 2 years versus the annual. If you are sure TiVimate is your long-term IPTV player, lifetime is the smart pick. I paid for lifetime in week 3 and have not regretted it.

TiVimate interface

This is where TiVimate beats every other IPTV player I have tested.

The home screen looks like a premium cable TV grid:

• Channel list on the left
• Program info on top
• Currently selected channel preview in main area
• EPG (program guide) accessible with one D-pad click

Navigation is fully D-pad friendly. You can use the app one-handed with a TV remote without any awkward keyboard popups. Most IPTV apps fail at remote navigation. TiVimate gets it right.

Channel transitions are fast — usually 1 to 2 seconds between channels. The buffering indicator is subtle, not intrusive. Audio and subtitle selection is one button press away.

TiVimate EPG (program guide)

The EPG is the second strongest feature. It pulls program data from your IPTV provider's XML guide and displays it in a clean horizontal grid:

You can:

• Click on any future program to see details (synopsis, cast, rating)
• Set reminders for future programs
• Schedule recordings (Premium) for future programs

• Sort channels by EPG availability

EPG load time is fast — typically 8 to 15 seconds for a 2000-channel subscription with full 7-day guide. Compared to IPTV Smarters Pro which takes 30+ seconds to load the same EPG.

TiVimate on Firestick

The Fire TV Stick is the most common TiVimate device. Install requires sideloading because TiVimate is not in the Amazon Appstore.

Install steps for Firestick

1. Enable Unknown Sources: Fire TV Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options > Apps from Unknown Sources > ON
2. Install Downloader: Search Downloader in the Amazon Appstore. Install. (Made by Mike Kulakowski.)
3. Open Downloader and enter URL tivimate.com/download
4. Download the APK (about 80 MB)
5. Install when prompted
6. Delete the APK to save space (optional)
7. Open TiVimate from the apps list

Total time: 5 minutes if you do it carefully.

Performance on different Firestick models

For 99% of users a Fire TV Stick 4K at $49.99 is enough for great TiVimate performance.

TiVimate on Android TV

If you have an Android TV device — Onn 4K Pro, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, Sony Bravia with Google TV — TiVimate is available directly in the Google Play Store. No sideloading needed.

Performance is even smoother than Firestick because Android TV is a thinner OS layer.

The Onn 4K Pro at $50 is my recommendation for budget Android TV streamers. It runs TiVimate Premium with multi-screen and recording without any issues.

TiVimate multi-screen feature

Multi-screen (Premium only) shows 4 live channels at once on the same TV. You can:

• Watch 4 sports channels during March Madness
• Monitor 4 news channels at once
• Check 4 streaming feeds
• Highlight one channel as "main" with the others as picture-in-picture

This feature alone is worth Premium for sports fans. No other IPTV player on Fire TV does this as well.

TiVimate recording

Recording (Premium only) lets you save live TV to local storage.

How it works

1. Storage: TiVimate records to internal storage by default. You can change to USB drive in Settings > Recording.
2. File format: MP4 with the original stream codec (typically H.264 or HEVC).
3. Scheduling: Two methods — manual (record right now) or scheduled (from EPG, click future program > Record).
4. Storage warning: 1 hour of 1080p HD is about 1.5 GB. A 64 GB USB drive holds about 40 hours of HD recording.

Limitations

• Cannot record DRM-protected streams (rare in IPTV but possible)
• Recording counts against device storage
• No cloud recording — local only
• Fire TV Stick Lite struggles with simultaneous recording + playback

For a regular Firestick 4K or Android TV box, recording works flawlessly.

TiVimate Companion app

TiVimate Companion is the phone app companion to the TV app. Requires Premium.

Use cases:

• Add a playlist from your phone in 30 seconds instead of typing on TV remote
• Sort channels with drag-and-drop
• Set parental controls with a phone keyboard
• Manage multiple Premium devices in your household
• Configure recording schedules quickly

It is Android only — there is no iOS version of TiVimate Companion. iPhone users will need a friend's Android phone or an Android emulator. The developer has said iOS is on the roadmap but no timeline.

TiVimate vs IPTV Smarters Pro

Both are popular IPTV players. Here is how they compare in 2026.

My take: If you have Fire TV or Android TV, get TiVimate. If you have an iPhone or iPad, get IPTV Smarters Pro. If you want one app on every device including iOS, IPTV Smarters Pro wins. For pure TV-only use, TiVimate is better.

TiVimate vs OTT Navigator

OTT Navigator is another competitor in this space. It is mostly used by Russian-speaking IPTV providers.

• OTT Navigator has a similar feature set but the UI is less polished
• TiVimate has better Western IPTV provider support
• OTT Navigator is free in most markets, paid in some
• TiVimate has stronger English-language docs and forums

For US English-speaking users, TiVimate wins. For Eastern European IPTV setups, OTT Navigator might be a better fit.

Common TiVimate problems and fixes

After 8 weeks I hit a few issues. Here are the fixes.

EPG not loading

Problem: Channels show "No information" instead of programs. Fix: Settings > EPG > Force refresh. If still broken, your IPTV provider's EPG URL is wrong or unreachable. Contact provider.

Channels buffer constantly

Problem: Streams pause every 30 seconds. Fix: 99% of buffering is internet speed, not TiVimate. Test your speed at speedtest.net. You need 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K. If your speed is fine, try a wired Ethernet connection. If still buffering, your IPTV provider is overloaded.

Channels disappear from list

Problem: Some channels vanish from the channel list. Fix: Settings > Channels > Hidden Channels. Unhide or check if your IPTV provider removed them.

App crashes on launch

Problem: TiVimate closes immediately when opened. Fix: Update to the latest version via tivimate.com/download. If still crashing, clear app data: Fire TV Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > TiVimate > Clear Data. You will need to re-add your playlist.

Multi-screen lags

Problem: Multi-screen mode stutters. Fix: Multi-screen is heavy. Fire TV Stick Lite cannot handle it well. Use a Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Onn 4K Pro, or Nvidia Shield.

Recording fails

Problem: Scheduled recording does not start. Fix: Ensure your Fire TV is set to "Never sleep" in Settings > Display & Sound > Display > Screen Saver > 5 minutes. If the device sleeps, recording can fail. Also make sure your USB drive (if used) is formatted as exFAT or FAT32.

TiVimate and VPN

Many IPTV users run a VPN for privacy or to access geo-restricted IPTV streams. TiVimate plays nicely with VPN apps installed on the same device.

I tested with IPVanish and NordVPN. Both work on Fire TV.

VPN considerations:

• Speed loss: 10 to 20 percent typical with a good VPN
• Server location matters: pick a server geographically close for lowest latency
• Kill switch recommended: in case VPN drops, TiVimate will not leak your real IP
• Split tunneling (NordVPN, IPVanish have this): route TiVimate through VPN, other apps direct — helps with speed

A VPN does not affect TiVimate's interface or feature set in any way. You will not notice it is running unless you check.

TiVimate roadmap and future

Based on the developer's public comments and Reddit AMAs:

• Not in Amazon Appstore — must sideload on Firestick
• No Roku support — Roku platform limitation
• No Smart TV support — sideload restrictions
• Companion app is Android-only
• Premium required for multi-screen and recording
• Some catch-up protocols still buggy with niche IPTV providers

Who should use TiVimate

Great fit if you:

• Use Fire TV or Android TV as your main streaming device
• Have an IPTV subscription and want a better player than the default
• Want premium cable TV feel with EPG and channel grid
• Want to record live TV to local storage
• Want multi-screen for sports or news

Not a great fit if you:

• Only use iPhone or iPad — use IPTV Smarters Pro
• Use Roku — not supported
• Use Samsung or LG Smart TV — not supported
• Do not have an IPTV subscription — TiVimate does not include channels

Final verdict

TiVimate earns a 4.6 out of 5 in my 2026 review. It is the best IPTV player I have tested on Fire TV and Android TV. The free tier is enough for most users. Premium at $20 a year or $40 lifetime is a fair price for the multi-screen and recording features.

For cord cutters who use IPTV as their main TV service, TiVimate is the player to use. Eight weeks of daily testing and I have switched everything in my house from IPTV Smarters Pro to TiVimate.
