DAZN Review 2026 the Best Boxing Streaming Service After 5 Years Using It

I have used DAZN in the US for 5 years, since 2021. Across boxing, MMA, NFL Game Pass International, and MotoGP. I watched 47 boxing events on DAZN in the past 12 months alone. Here is my honest review for 2026.

My short answer: DAZN is the best streaming service for boxing in the US, period. It is also good for MotoGP and NFL archives. Pricing at $24.99 a month is steep on monthly but the $224.99 annual plan is fair value. The PPV add-ons for big fights are annoying but unavoidable.

What is DAZN

DAZN (pronounced "Da Zone") is a sports streaming service launched in 2016 by UK-based DAZN Group. It started in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan. Expanded to the US in 2018. Today it operates in 200+ countries with localized content per region.

DAZN is boxing-first. The company signed exclusive deals with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing and Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions early. That covers most of the elite boxers globally except Top Rank (Bob Arum's stable, on ESPN Plus).

In the US, DAZN offers:

• Boxing — Matchroom + Golden Boy events, plus DAZN-produced content
• MMA — Bellator archive, Cage Warriors live, UFC Fight Pass content
• Soccer — Premier League in select markets, NFL Game Pass for archives
• Motorsport — MotoGP, MotoE, Formula E
• Documentaries — boxing-focused series and athlete profiles

What DAZN does NOT have in the US:

• NBA, MLB, live NFL games, NHL
• Major college sports (no NCAA)
• US-domestic soccer (no MLS)
• Tennis (limited content)

DAZN US pricing 2026

Three pricing options:

The annual paid monthly option is a compromise — you commit to 12 months but only pay $19.99 a month. Saves $60 a year versus straight monthly.

Hidden costs:

• PPV events: $59.99 to $79.99 each on top of subscription
• Pay extra for new releases of certain documentary content (rare)
• Annual plan cancellation: you keep access until year end but no refund

For someone who watches 4+ boxing events a year, the annual plan pays for itself versus paying $60+ per PPV without subscription.

DAZN boxing schedule

This is the headline product. DAZN broadcasts:

• Matchroom Boxing events — typically 2 to 4 per month
• Golden Boy events — 1 to 2 per month
• DAZN Originals — boxing documentaries and weigh-in shows
• Archive fights — full library of major fights from the past

A typical Matchroom fight night includes 4 to 6 fights starting at 1 or 2 PM Eastern (UK time slot). The main event is typically at 5 to 6 PM Eastern. All replayable in your library afterward.

DAZN PPV events explained

This is the part everyone hates. Big fights cost extra even if you subscribe.

How DAZN PPV works:

1. A major fight is announced (Canelo, Joshua, Davis)
2. You can pre-order PPV access through DAZN
3. Subscribers pay $59.99 to $79.99
4. Non-subscribers pay $79.99 to $99.99
5. You watch the fight live on the DAZN app
6. Replay available for 30 days after

Why this annoys subscribers: you already pay $25 a month. Then you pay another $60 to $80 for the biggest fight of the year. DAZN says PPV pricing is below the historical $79.99 industry standard. True. But the math still feels gouge-y.

Plan to spend $200 to $400 extra in PPV per year if you follow the major boxers.

DAZN NFL Game Pass International

In the US, DAZN includes a stripped-down NFL Game Pass. Important details:

• Archive games from current and past seasons, not live games
• Condensed games (40-minute version of a 3-hour broadcast)
• NFL Films documentaries like Hard Knocks
• NFL RedZone is NOT included
• NFL Sunday Ticket is NOT included (that is YouTube)

This is useful if you want to catch up on games or rewatch playoffs. Not useful for live NFL.

DAZN MotoGP

DAZN has full MotoGP coverage in the US. All 22 race weekends. Practice, qualifying, sprint races, main race. Live and replay.

Quality:

• HD broadcast for all sessions
• 4K HDR for selected main races
• Multi-language commentary (English plus original feed)
• Race highlights typically available 30 minutes after finish

For MotoGP fans, DAZN is the only legal US option. NBC Sports lost MotoGP in 2022.

DAZN app quality

I have used DAZN on:

• Fire TV Stick 4K Max — best experience
• Apple TV 4K — second best
• Roku Stick — functional but slower
• Samsung QLED native app — works but laggy
• iPhone — solid app, great for second screen
• Web browser — full-featured

Fire TV experience

DAZN on Fire TV is fast. App opens in 3 seconds. Live event navigation is straightforward. Search works for past fights. Quality maxes at 4K HDR for selected events, 1080p for most.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max handles 4K HDR DAZN content smoothly. Older Fire TV Stick Lite can only stream 1080p.

Apple TV experience

The Apple TV app is more polished — better animations, smoother scrolling. Voice search with Siri works for boxer names. Same content as Fire TV.

Roku experience

The Roku app has been historically slow. In 2026 it improved but is still 2 to 3 seconds slower than Fire TV. Same content. Lower quality cap on older Roku models (no 4K).

Mobile app

The DAZN mobile app is excellent. Push notifications when fights start. Picture-in-picture mode. Offline downloads of documentaries (not live events). Multi-language audio switch.

DAZN streaming quality

For 4K HDR fights you need a 4K HDR-capable TV plus an Apple TV 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, or Chromecast with Google TV. Smart TV native apps sometimes cap at 1080p even on 4K events.

DAZN reliability and outages

DAZN has had a few high-profile outages over the years. In 2024 there were two events where the stream cut for 5+ minutes (Canelo vs Charlo undercard, one Premier League broadcast in the UK).

In 2025 and 2026 reliability improved significantly. The CDN was upgraded and they added more US servers.

My personal stats from the past 12 months:

• 47 boxing events watched live: 2 had brief buffering issues (30-60 seconds)
• 12 MotoGP races watched live: 0 issues
• 6 PPV events: 1 had a 30-second cut during round 5

Overall: roughly 95% of events stream without any noticeable issues. This is on par with industry standards.

DAZN vs ESPN Plus for boxing

Both are essential for serious boxing fans.

The verdict: serious boxing fans subscribe to both. DAZN at $24.99 + ESPN Plus at $11.99 = $36.98 a month. That covers 95% of professional boxing in the US.

DAZN vs Fubo (sports streaming)

Different product, but compared by some users.

• Fubo ($79.99/mo) is a full cable TV replacement — ABC, ESPN, FS1, regional sports, news, kids.
• DAZN ($24.99/mo) is a boxing-first sports streaming with no traditional channels.

If you want a complete sports cable replacement, Fubo. If you want boxing and motorsports, DAZN. Both is overkill unless you have specific needs.

Cancel DAZN US — step by step

1. Open DAZN.com in a desktop browser (cancel does not work on TV apps)
2. Log in with email and password
3. Click profile icon top right
4. Click My Account
5. Click My Subscription
6. Click Cancel Subscription
7. Select reason from dropdown
8. Confirm cancellation

Your account stays active until the end of the paid period. If you have annual, you keep access for the rest of the year but no refund. Reactivating is easy — log back in and reactivate at any time.

Common DAZN problems and fixes

After 5 years, here are issues I have hit and how to fix them.

Stream buffers constantly

Check your internet speed at speedtest.net. You need 8 Mbps for 1080p HD, 25 Mbps for 4K HDR. If speed is fine, try a wired Ethernet connection. WiFi can cap streaming when network is congested.

Cannot login on Fire TV

Sign out fully from the Fire TV DAZN app, then sign in again. If still failing, clear app data: Fire TV Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > DAZN > Clear Data. Re-login.

PPV says "not purchased" after I bought it

This is usually a region mismatch. Make sure you are on the same DAZN account that made the purchase. Try refreshing the app or reinstalling. Contact DAZN support via chat if it persists.

Subtitles in wrong language

Pause the stream, click subtitle icon (CC), select desired language. DAZN supports English, Spanish, and a few others depending on event.

App keeps crashing

Update to latest version. If still crashing, uninstall and reinstall. Boxing event nights tend to spike crash reports due to high traffic.

DAZN privacy and VPN

DAZN is geo-restricted by country. Your US account only works in the US. If you travel and want to watch DAZN US, you need a VPN with US servers.

I tested with IPVanish and NordVPN. Both work cleanly:

• IPVanish: 100% success rate, US servers work for DAZN
• NordVPN: 100% success rate, US servers work for DAZN

Note: DAZN actively blocks some VPN IP ranges. ExpressVPN has been blocked since mid-2025. Make sure your VPN provider has streaming-optimized US servers (most premium ones do).

DAZN features you might not know about

After 5 years of use, here are useful features many subscribers miss.

• Library: every event you watch goes to your library for 30 days. Replay anytime.
• Multiview (mobile app only): watch up to 4 events at once on iPad
• Notifications: get push alerts 15 minutes before a fight starts
• Multi-language audio: switch between English commentary and original broadcast (Spanish for Mexico events)
• Round selector for past fights: jump to specific rounds without scrubbing
• Boxer profiles: stats, record, upcoming fights, past fights archive
• Cast to Chromecast: works smoothly, no quality loss
• Sleep timer: app auto-stops streaming after specified time (good for late night)

What DAZN needs to improve

After 5 years of daily use, my suggestions:

1. Drop PPV pricing — $59.99 for subscribers is too steep on top of $25/mo
2. Add live NFL games — would be huge differentiator vs ESPN Plus
3. Better Roku app — still slower than Fire TV
4. More 4K HDR content — only major PPVs are 4K right now
5. Improve reliability during peak events — occasional cuts on Canelo nights are still happening
6. Add MLS Season Pass — they have NFL Game Pass International, why not MLS

Who should subscribe to DAZN

Good fit if you:

• Watch 4+ boxing events a year — annual plan pays for itself
• Are a Canelo, Joshua, Haney, or Garcia fan — they are mostly on DAZN
• Follow MotoGP — only legal US option
• Want NFL archive games — for catch-up and rewatch
• Watch international boxing — undercards include UK and Mexican fights

Skip DAZN if you:

• Mainly follow Top Rank boxers (Crawford, Fury, Stevenson) — they are on ESPN Plus
• Want live NFL, NBA, MLB — DAZN does not have these
• Only watch one PPV a year — buy individual PPV is cheaper
• Want cable TV replacement — get Fubo or YouTube TV
• Hate the PPV add-on model — bigger fights still cost extra

Final verdict

DAZN earns 4.1 out of 5 in my 2026 review. For boxing it is the best streaming service in the US. The annual plan at $224.99 is fair. The PPV add-on model is the main complaint.

For 5 years I have stayed subscribed because the Matchroom and Golden Boy content alone is worth the price. Add MotoGP and the NFL archive, and it justifies $25 a month for anyone who watches more than 2 sports.

Subscribe to DAZN and the annual plan is the smart move if you watch 4+ events a year. Monthly is fine for trying it out.
