Editorial policy

This page explains how we work. It is our promise to the reader and to Google's algorithm: what you read here is written by humans, tested, and honest even when it's awkward.

What we promise

1. We test before we write. If we review a VPN, we use it at least 30 days across devices. If we review a receiver, we connect it to a real antenna.
2. We list the flaws. No product is perfect. If Surfshark drops when switching countries, we say so.
3. We verify the data. Speeds, prices, plans and specs get checked against the official source before publishing. If something changes, we update the article.
4. We separate opinion from fact. When we say "this is the best VPN", we explain the criteria. When we say "3,200 servers", we verify it.
5. We mark affiliate links. Every article with affiliates carries a visible notice at the top.

How we pick what to review

Three criteria:

1. Real people search for it. We use real search data (monthly volume, intent) to pick topics. If no one searches it, it is low priority.
2. It fits our niche. We cover satellite receivers, IPTV, streaming and VPN. We do not cover phones, computers or general smart home.
3. It is legal. We do not cover piracy or gray-zone products. Read our disclaimer.

If a manufacturer contacts us to review their product, we consider it like any other candidate. Getting a sample does not change our opinion. If the product is bad, we say so. If good, we say so. If mediocre, also.

How we test

VPNs

• Install on 3 devices minimum (Windows, Android, Fire TV or smart TV).
• Speed tests in 5 different countries at peak hours.
• IP and DNS leak checks with official tools.
• Streaming test: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu in geo blocked region.
• IPTV test with a client like TiviMate.
• 30 days of real use before publishing.

Satellite and IPTV receivers

• Real connection to an antenna or IPTV.
• Channel search and configuration on at least one satellite (Astra 19.2°E or US OTA equivalent).
• Official firmware update.
• Built-in app test (Netflix, YouTube, etc. if available).
• Daily use for 2 to 4 weeks.

Streaming services

• Minimum 1 month subscription.
• Catalog test in 3+ genres.
• Compatibility with Smart TV, Fire TV, Android TV, mobile.
• Real image and sound quality at each plan tier.
• Customer service: we contact at least once to evaluate response.

Who writes

Every article has an author. We do not use AI-generated content without review. Drafts can be assisted by AI, but a human editor verifies facts, tests the product, edits the text and takes responsibility for the result.

Our authors:

• Carlos Rivera — Editor in chief. 15 years in satellite, IPTV and streaming. Bio.

How we handle errors

If we find an error after publishing (or someone tells us):

1. We fix it fast.
2. If the change is significant, we add a note at the foot of the article: "Correction May 23, 2026: ..."
3. We update the "Last updated" date at the top.

We do not silently delete old versions. We want readers to see that yes, we can be wrong, and when we are we fix it in public.

Conflicts of interest

• Affiliate programs with NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN, Amazon, Hulu, YouTube TV, DAZN and others. We earn commission per sale.
• We do not receive direct payments from brands for "sponsored" reviews without marking them as sponsored.
• We do not exchange links or do paid guest posts.
• We do not accept products in exchange for positive reviews. We accept sample products to test, on the condition that the review is ours and can be negative.

Update frequency

Articles about VPNs, streaming and comparisons get reviewed at least every 6 months. Articles about specific receivers get updated when there is new official firmware or a meaningful price change.
